It was the first spring when the corona epidemic halted the world. The idea to create a food truck selling khachapuri - Georgian cheese-filled bread - took its final form in anticipation of summer.
We reached out to Ville Haapasalo and discussed the details. The task was quite simple: to create an illustration of Ville holding a khachapuri. At that time, Ville had already swapped his cap for a short leather hat, so it made sense to use it as the headgear.
According to the concept, Ville was supposed to reach out the khachapuri to the viewer. However, after a series of experiments, we realized that this idea didn't work. It had to be either Ville or the bread that had to be the center of attention.
The next version was easier to create. Since Ville wears sunglasses in the summer, placing them on the hat seemed like a logical addition to the headgear.
Overall, the style turned out to be quite vintage. We decided to replace modern sunglasses with Steampunk-style goggles. Thus, the Haapasalon Hatsapuri logo took its current form.
